SSUP
I love shuffles. This is another hommage to Billy Cobham, but also to Jan Hammer, as the melody's first notes are typical of his style. Those bends were copied by many of us in the early 70's... guitar players and keyboard players, alike. This is also dedicated to the memory of Tommy Bolin, who is a very relevant player in the history of fusion. Dennis Chambers, Bunny Brunel and Chris Palmaro did this piece more than justice, keeping the rocking vintage fusion vibe, but with their own take. Amen!

THE WOMAN I LOVE
Recorded live in the studio in NYC with Dennis Chambers on drums and Tony Garnier on bass. This high-energy blues-jazz-rock shuffle is dedicated to the great bop guitarist, Joe Pass. This is a Ray Gomez composition, and he is on guitar, Leslie guitar overdub, vocals and production. Enjoy! You can dance to this tune!

STAXX
A funky/rocking piece recorded live in Los Angeles in 1990, with Tom Brechtlein on Drums and William B. "Smitty" Smith on organ, displaying Ray's creative and spontaneous originality, fire and tone, mixing Blues, Rock Funk and Jazz sensitivities! Supported by a top-notch, world-class rhythm section. Enjoy the groove!

MAROC
Maroc is another piece from the Los Angeles 1990 live sessions. Improvisation to a stereo track, written and arranged by Ray Gomez; drums and keyboards programmed by Chris Palmaro. This is not a representation of Moroccan music, but a channeling of oriental music and spirit in a modern “jazz” influenced way.

TRUE BLUE
More from the 1990 L.A. "Live in the studio" sessions with “Smitty” Smith (organ) and Tom Brechtlein (drums). Special thanks to Chris Palmaro for extra synth bass and sequencer overdubs, and to Neil Kernon for helping with the remastering. This song is dedicated to the memory of my Swedish guitarist friend, Poa who was a "True Blue" and left us way too soon..Bless your soul Poa.

BURNIN' THE JAM!
Another sweet, burning, live-in-the studio jam from legendary jazz-rock-blues guitarist, Ray Gomez!  With William B. “Smitty” Smith on organ and Tom Brechtlein on drums.  Recorded in L.A. in 1990.

SWEET LIFE 1991
This song was written in 1977...  This particular performance was done in the winter of 1991, with Dennis Chambers on Drums and Danny Hinton on Bass... at Unique Recording Studios, live to DAT… done in one take.

KEEP TALKIN'
A great mixture of funk and fusion played by the best musicians of the genre: Ray Gomez (guitar), Will Lee (bass), Andy Newmark (drums), Chris Palmaro (keyboards). Written, arranged and produced by Ray Gomez. Totally burnin' funk!
